Community College Prep Academy Adult Public Charter School

The mission of Community College Preparatory Academy (CCPrep) is to provide the education and skills development that will empower and prepare under-credited adults for postsecondary education success, viable employment and lifelong learning. We raise funds to support tech access for our adult learners. 

General Assembly

We provide pro bono services in coordination with student projects, to help connect folks and teams to our alumni and partners, and to share opportunities within our greater community to learn or get support through learning or access to partners. We want to explore providing discounts or free course options for front-line workers, DC government and citizens.

Trinity Washington University

Trinity is developing academic programs including postsecondary courses and certificates to improve educational opportunities for DC residents who want to become more tech proficient. Trinity provides continuing education courses for teachers to improve tech skills, and we are developing low cost programs for adults to develop skills in topics such as data analytics.

Byte Back

Byte Back provides a pathway of inclusive tech training that leads to living-wage careers.

At Byte Back, people of color, women, and others who have been left out of the modern digital world find new opportunities. With accessible, inclusive tech training, graduates gain the skills and certifications needed to launch meaningful living-wage careers.

Latino Economic Development Center-LEDC

Our mission is to drive the economic and social advancement of low- to moderate- income latinos and other underserved communities by equipping them with the skills and tools to achieve financial independence and become leaders in their communities. LEDC provides a computer lab available to the community.

Swaliga Foundation

Swaliga Foundation has started an initiative to provide mobile maker spaces in different areas around DC. Swaliga intends to provide free internet access at these locations. Washington, D.C. Wards 7 & 8 were home to the first pilot of Swaliga’s signature #STEAMtheBlock technology based educational initiative. Of the youth who frequent this program, 90% come from a single parent household and 90% are on free or reduced lunches.

The Golden Triangle BID

The Golden Triangle Business Improvement District works to enhance the 44-square-block downtown neighborhood stretching from Dupont Circle to Pennsylvania Avenue. The primary focus of the BID is to provide a clean, safe, and vibrant environment within the Golden Triangle and to retain and attract businesses, including the growing tech industry. The BID has also been working with GW University, property owners, and city stakeholders on developing an Innovation District in the neighborhood.

United Planning Organization

United Planning Organization’s (UPO) mission is to Unite People with Opportunities by providing impactful programs to assist District residents in achieving self-sufficiency. UPO provides more than 20 human service programs in the following sectors including housing, early education, adult vocational training, community development, substance use/abuse treatment, and youth academic enrichment, among others.

US Ignite is accelerating the smart city movement – and creating value for an entire ecosystem – by guiding communities into the connected future, creating a path for private sector growth, and advancing technology research that’s at the heart of smart city development.

Wilderness Technology Alliance (WTA) 

The WTA provides free and low-cost computers and software, with over 95% going to low-income DC residents.  About 50% of these computers are provided for free, supported by donations from generous individuals and foundations wanting to bridge the digital divide.  The rest are provided for a low cost recovery fee making laptops affordable for the disadvantaged.

DC Access

Founded in 1999, DC Access is Washington DC’s first and only Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP). Focused on making internet access and digital living, simpler, more affordable and easier to maintain, DC Access was born to provide Washington, DC with a better choice, good customer service and reliable connections.

For 24 years, NFF has been working closely with the DC Public Schools, Libraries and the University of D.C. to enable enhanced teaching and learning, as well as access to the Internet primarily through our network and security engineering services.  NFF will leverage these same resources to support the mission of the Tech Together Pledge.

Ookla’s mission is to make the internet better, faster and more accessible for everyone. Ookla for Good is an initiative to provide data, analysis and content to organizations that are seeking to improve people’s lives through internet accessibility. We partner with organizations whose goals align with ours to provide unbiased information about the state of networks worldwide.

The District Innovation Lab

As an extension of General Assembly’s campus in DC, we work with global organizations and entrepreneurs alike. We partner with social enterprises, nonprofits and alongside government to support and collaborate around design projects. Our students use design thinking and follow a best-in-class curriculum to tackle real problems.
